Starting her career at age 12, Taylah won her first Australian title as a junior at 15 in Perth. She went on to win more national titles and eventually joined the National Team of Australia, competing internationally over four years, winning a bronze medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and participating in the 2019 World Championships.

Taylah Robinson

This November, Taylah will be fighting in her biggest yet, at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.

In the lead up to her fight, we sat down with her, to talk all things fight preparation, nutrition with her dietitian Hannah Wilson (@hannah.wilson.dietitian) and more….

WHAT'S YOUR DAILY ROUTINE LEADING UP TO A FIGHT?

We’ve done all the hard work in the last 8 weeks, so now it’s all about tapering, keeping sharp and soaking in the experience. I’ll mainly be going for walks along the beach, stretching and doing one workout session a day.

WHAT KIND OF EATING PLAN DO YOU FOLLOW?

I’ve been working really closely with my dietitian Hannah Wilson. It’s the first time in my career that i’ve eaten 2200 calories, and i’m smack on weight! This week the focus is making sure I’m getting all the proper nutrients in my body.

WHAT'S YOUR SECRET TO RECOVERY?

Lots of stretching and massages!

WHAT DO YOU DO TO MENTALLY PREPARE?

It’s really important that my mental preparation is strong in the lead up to a fight. It’s all about having the confidence that I’ve done everything right, and having trust that I am going to win.

WHO IS YOUR ROCK AND HOW DO THEY HELP SUPPORT YOU?

My partner, my coach and my family are my rocks!
